Jags head for the hills

Andi

18 Jags (give or take) showed their faces at MSC this weekend, ready for some autumn leaf peeping. The seemingly unruly mob was soon sorted into three fairly even groups, and departed the car park more or less on time.

The lead out group, headed up by Andi, with wingman Kylie (actually, probably the other way around!), also consisted of Liam, David H, Peter G, Richard L and Rory. After a smooth ascent to Frieth x-roads, the group made towards Lane End, and enjoyed the descent of Chips. Then on to West Wycombe and the headline climb of the day, Bottom Road/Radnage Lane. The first section being very forgiving with beautiful views of splendid autumn colours, the second part, with a steep section at the end, not so much. But the resulting whoosh down Wiggins Lane to Bledlow made it almost worthwhile.

On to Chinnor and back up Aston Hill. Spirits not exactly flagging, but some were pleased to hear that there wasn't much more climbing to do. On the plus side, everyone was warm. Another leafy interlude via Ipsden and down Windmill Hill. Back into the Hambledon valley, which seemed to have turned into puncture alley! First we saw Patrice, being ably assisted, he said he was OK. Then 3 other victims where sighted lodged in various driveways with upside down bikes (none were Marlow Riders).

Fortunately there were no reported incidents amongst the Jags, other than one early retirement due to ill health. Although one notably tall Jag may be required to view an Inclusivity video (for thought correction?) that had been inflicted on another Jag by his erstwhile company, to remind the aforementioned that remarks about how old someone might look are no longer acceptable. Either that or Harriet will just sock him one next time.

As ever the bacon rolls at MSC went down a treat. Thank you to Mike W and Harriet for leading the other groups.
