There were about 15 Jags this week. They were all milling around so it was a little difficult to ascertain exact numbers, but we were joined by newbie, Matt B. Two different routes on offer, Andi’s variation on Jag’s classic Not Bottom Lane, and a late entry from Gary M going south, which split the field. Tim W not wishing to ride back home plumped for Gary’s route taking Steve W and Paul with him.
The rest of the melee divided into two groups with Jay leading his first official ride with Captain Jane as wingman (wing person?). There were no complaints and to use Gary’s definition of a successful ride, he didn’t loose anyone, so all good.
Meanwhile, Andi’s group were in for a shock of almost biblical proportions. At the top of the first hill, in this case, White Hill on the way out of Wycombe, pulling into the lay-by for the usual Susie wardrobe adjustment and removal. And… nothing! In fact, she didn’t remove a single item of clothing for the whole ride. 😱
Mike W, was strong from his recent sojourn in Mallorca, despite two nasty falls (thankfully ‘just’ bruising and grazes - Mike was OK too🤣). Sean too, did sterling work on the front. Mike later obliged and did the disrobing!
The route took us through Burnham Beeches, where we saw bluebells and some pretty poor driving, but made it to Flat Harry’s without incident (well, one dropped chain courtesy of Markie J, but that doesn’t really count as he soon caught back up).
At Flat Harry’s coffee and cake were organised with impressive efficiency and the Jags groups reconvened and swapped notes. Paul looked none the worse for his first ride with Gary, so again, all good.
