Arrived at MSC helped move some (2) barriers then sought out who was ready to ride and who has withdrawn.
We quickly found the group and set off. The Garmin indicated that we should turn right out of MSC. I thought it should have been left but turned right anyway. Then the Garmin decided to report OFF ROUTE so that was a good start to the ride. Ignored it and went up High Street. (Open question does this regularly happen to others, Garmin saying take the wrong turn out of MSC. I have had it do this at least 3 times.)
Off up to the Frieth crossroads and onto Lane End. Pace settled and everyone on board. Enjoyed the drop down Chipps Hill towards the A40. Then along Bottom Road and up Chinnor Hill. Enjoyed the views and downhill of Wigan’s Lane. Turned back to loop Chinnor. Then headed for Aston Hill.
After being on the front and catching the wind I now started to lead from the back as the majority of the group where off the front and away up Aston Hill. Met another Tigers group along the hill and yet another group at the top. No sign of the group waiting for the leader and last man so headed towards Stockenchurch. Caught up with the lead group and headed for Ibstone. Once more a downhill to be enjoyed. Arrived at The Frog coffee and cake to the usual high standard.
Things I learnt today, don’t ALWAYS trust the Garmin. Martyn Webster continues to supply good routes. Gill Newman organises the Tigers superbly. If you are leading and slow up the hills try and avoid the head wind before the climb.
A wonderful ride with nice people.
