Easy Tigers – The Ride Leader came back with only one rider
So the ride started off well with Evelyn, Sue, Bill, Rob and Penny, with Andy to join us later on. It was my first time as Ride Leader for the Easy Tigers and after a quick chat we set off.
All seemed to be going well and we were cycling as a nice group, however the attraction of the cafe at Burnham Beaches proved to be too great for Evelyn and Sue who said, thank you very much for the ride, but we’re off. It’s nothing to do with you, honest.
Then as we got much further around the route and we were starting to approach the coffee stop, Bill decided that he would rather see his wife than spend any more time cycling with us and peeled off
to Bourne End. It’s nothing to do with you, honest, he said.
As we got to the final turn to go up the hill to Flackwell Heath to the Stag, Rob decided that the hill wasn’t for him and he headed straight off Marlow. Then there were three.
The coffee and cake stop at the Stag was enjoyed and after that we headed back to Marlow, on the way Andy said that he was going to push on and would see us all later.
By this time it was just down to Penny and myself who made it in to back to the club. It turned out Penny had no escape as her car was there and so had to go back, no matter what.
She kindly said to me that although everyone had left the group, it was no reflection on my Rider Leader skills.
She even said I was ‘alright’ as a Rider Leader, a higher praise I cannot think.
It was a great days ride and nice to meet some other members of the club and ride with them and I hope they felt the same.😀
PS: to my group- thanks for sharing the ride with me I had a great time. 👍😀
