Committee Vacancies
Vacancy for Deputy Chairperson (Chairperson elect)
Per the constitution, committee members (in the norm) undertake a 2-year term, with an extension for a second 2-year term before stepping down. Alistair Moore is currently in the 3rd year of his tenure in the Chairperson role, so will step down in June 2027. To that end the committee are starting the process of finding a successor. The plan is to appoint a Deputy Chairperson in June 2026 with the expectation that the incumbent will move to the Chairperson role in June 2027.
We are fortunate in having someone who has stepped forward, who we feel would be an excellent candidate, however in line with how candidates get appointed to the Committee, we would like to invite anyone who might like to find out more or be considered for the role to email Alistair. The process for selection allows for a members’ vote if we have two or more candidates. This ensures everyone has a fair chance to compete for roles if they wish.
So, if you would like to find out more about the Deputy Chairperson and Chairperson roles please email Alistair on alistair@getmoore.co.uk by Thursday 30th April.
Comment from Alistair:
I have found being on the committee very rewarding – Russell (previous Chair) left it in good shape and we have tackled some things that I hope have made the club better – there is more work to do and we recognise that, but it is not a big time commitment, although we are after people who do have enough time to get some stuff done!
Vacancy for Vice Captain
Al Lewis has served two years as Vice Captain and a further two years as Club Captain. He has now expressed his wish to step down from the Captain’s role. In accordance with the club’s guidelines on succession planning and to promote continuity on the committee, we will replace Al by appointing from our existing cadre of Vice Captain’s. Deborah Rose has agreed to step up to being Club Captain and we wish her all the best in this new role.
As a result of Debs’ move, we now have a vacancy for a Vice Captain. We try to maintain representation on the committee from across the speed groups. Currently the committee are reasonably well balanced, so would welcome interest from anyone in any speed group. Although, we would particularly like to welcome someone from the VET/ETs on to the committee.
If you would like to find out more and/or express your interest in the Vice Captain role, then please email Debs on deborahjanerose3@gmail.com by Thursday 30th April.
