Another cold weekend, but in the end, not so cold as to cancel rides. And while there was frost in Marlow, away from the river, most areas had remained above freezing. Accordingly hardy riders from all groups ventured out, most wearing the appropriate kit (unlike our immensely experienced ex-Chair Russell, who should have know better, apparently underdressed and so scuttled home early missing the excuse for a bacon roll at MSC).
In fact the Leopards had the most eventful rides with Patrice coming a cropper on a tricky corner - luckily rider and bike both fine - although the same can’t be said for his lovely new Castelli jacket.
Elsewhere, Neil Wragg’s group of one planted 90 saplings, no punctures, just a blister.
Further ride reports at the end.
Red Kite Ride - 'Foodie' OpportunityÂ
Our Red Kite Ride is famed for its wonderful feed stations which offers riders a range of sweet and savoury snacks, drinks, and a warm welcome from our volunteers.Â
We have a new opening for a position to help co-ordinate the feed station food and drinks for this year’s event. The role entails planning, purchasing and distributing the goodies in the run up to the event on Sept 1st, so it’s important you can spare some time on the Thursday through to Saturday before as well as the on the day.Â
After more than ten years there is a well drilled plan of operation and lots of handover help on hand from Susie, our outgoing feed station co-ordinator.Â
This is a committee role but the involvement is critical in the lead up to the event rather than attending all the meetings.Â
